New York Clambake: Digger's Dozen

41” W x 41” H

My fusion of two traditional quilt blocks, Clamshell with New York Beauty. What else could it be but a New York Clambake?! Please pass the salt potatoes.

Inspired by my godmother's (LaDelle Brearley) guest bathroom's sheaves of wheat wallpaper in 2004 on the occasion of my father's funeral. It took my guild needing a show quilt design (New York Clambake, 2013 TCQG show quilt) for me to finally draft patterns in 2012. I taught myself to use Adobe Illustrator so I could create an additional eight patterns (most of which have mirror images), which I used in creating my vision of New York Clambake.
