Fly Me to the Moon travelling collection

Apollo 8: Earthrise was juried into this travelling collection of quilts commemorating the 50th anniversary of man's first step on the moon, curated by Suzanne Miller Jones. She is currently organizing venues, so stay tuned as I will post them as I find out where you can see the amazing quilts (I've seen images of several and they range from folk art to lifelike realism and from abstract to comical. I can't wait to see them!) The quilts will travel through 2018 and possibly 2019.

New Quilts from an Old Favorite: New York Beauty, National Quilt Museum, Paducah, KY
New York Clambake 6: Digger's Dozen Too is one of 18 finalists in the New Quilts from an Old Favorite: New York Beauty competition that will be on exhibit at the National Quilt Museum from March 4th through May 10, 2016. The quilts will then travel as a special exhibit at AQS shows throughout 2016 and 2017.

SAQA 3rd Annual "This is a Quilt" Trunk Show, group C
Curated by Eileen Doughty, 407 small quilts (10 x 7 inches) were divided into eight trunks. My quilt, Smellovision is in trunk C. I was very thrilled and honored when jurors B. J. Adams and Trudi Van Dyke selected my quilt to be one of 50 chosen to become a part of the National Quilt Museum's permanent collection! The quilt's eleven layers of my hand-dyed fabrics combine appliqué and reverse-appliqué done by hand. All the quilts will travel for one year before mine and 49 others go to the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY. You can check the schedule for trunk C on it's web page (click on this link.)

Contemporary Art Quilts, Gmeiner Art & Cultural Center, Wellsboro, PA

Bricks and Blocks, Everson Museum of Art, Syracuse, NY

Combined two seemingly dissimilar mediums, LEGOs and quilt, to celebrate color, pattern, and construction to take play and ingenuity to new heights. The exhibition featured original small-scale LEGO designs created for the Build Your Syracuse LEGO Design Challenge alongside works by some of the finiest quilters in the Central New York region. Bricks and Blocks celebrated the beauty and artistry of quilts with the innovation and imagination of the LEGO constructions that combined to create a vivid and playful presentation. The exhibit ran from June 6-August 9, 2015 at the Everson Museum of Art, 401 Harrison Street, Syracuse, NY 13202.

SAQA One Foot Square Auction, 2014
The third section's auction is over. This year, I donated New York Clambake 4: Amuse Bouche to SAQA for the 2014 annual benefit auction, and it sold on the third day for $350! Thank you to the patron who purchased my quilt and made a great donation to benefit SAQA!

Quilting By the Lake 2014 Quilt Show

New York Clambake: Digger's Dozen and Bend It Wright 2 were in the quilt show at QBL in the Onondaga Community College newly air-conditioned gym, Sunday, July 13 through Thursday, July 24, 2014.

And New York Clambake: Digger's Dozen won the Gallery Choice Award! I danced around the house (well, I did so in my head as I had just returned home from the hospital when I learned of the award! I think it speeded my recovery!) Thank you to all the wonderful people in
PAQA-South, especially Jenny WIlliams, and the Pate-Walker Ar5 & History Museum for all their fabulous work in putting on this show!

I created C3: Infiltration for the 2012 SAQA annual benefit auction. Based on the quilt I made in the 2011 Project Iron Quilter competition held by the Genesee Valley Quilt Club (patterned after the Project Iron Quilter competition the Tompkins County Quilters Guild originated at our 2009 quilt show!)
